The County Engineer serves the County in matters dealing with Road and Bridge standards and compliance; capital investment, maintenance and rehabilitation program planning; funding and construction execution; ensuring Federal and State requirements are met for roadway design and safety.
The County Engineer provides coordination with Planning and Community Development in private sector development review processes and is responsible for long-range transportation network planning. The County Engineer provides and receives input from citizen oversight and review groups including the Highway Advisory Commission (HAC), Pikes Peak Regional Transportation Authority (PPRTA) and the El Paso County Planning Commission.
The County Engineer also coordinates all aspects of stormwater management to ensure County compliance with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System regulations.
