The Highway Advisory Commission was created to advise the Board of County Commissioners in matters involving policy and philosophy related to El Paso County transportation operations and activities.
The Highway Advisory Commission members have the responsibility to review and comment on items and proposals specifically related to issues concerning the County’s policies and philosophy on the management and operation of the Department of Public Works’ transportation operations and activities and to make recommendations to the Director of the Department of Public Works and/or the Board of County Commissioners. Members are charged with protecting the desires and interests of the entire County and shall consider all aspects of the issue at hand, analyzing all factors to determine what is in the best interest of the entire County.
Meetings are held at 9:00 a.m. on the third Monday, bi-monthly, in the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department’s upstairs hearing room at 2880 International Circle, Colorado Springs, CO. There may be times when this Commission meets earlier or later, depending on the agenda.
